Yamaha YZF R6: Hardly anything went untouched

(Yamaha Release) Hardly anything went untouched on Yamaha’s R6 sport bike. For starters, compression is bumped up from 12.8:1 to 13.1:1. Fuel injection mapping on the YCC-T system got an upgrade, promising better throttle response and reduced engine braking.

The R6 also gets a new frame and swingarm. For the frame, the crossmember has been eliminated, creating a new generation design, which Yamaha says to “take handling to the next level.” The fork also receives some revisions, with a new triple-clamp with an increased off-set, and the rider position has been moved forward and lower in the front.
